FCWL is proud to announce we have completed furnishing our room at Hacienda Campus for Woman and Children. The first residents moved in during August 2010. Thank you to all who supported this project, and to Magi Fainer-Towne who saw it to completion.

Wish List for Transitional Housing Apartment Residents

Women in Fresno who have completed an eligible substance abuse rehabilitation program may move into transitional living apartments at the Fresno Mental Health Systems (MHS) Hacienda Campus.  With support from the Fresno community, over 30 transitional living apartments have been furnished and appointed with necessary linens, kitchen items, and accessories.   The Fresno County Women Lawyers adopted and furnished such a room in 2010.  There is now a “Feels Like Home” Store at the Hacienda Campus to support the community apartment adoption process and to fill in gaps in home goods provided the individual families.  To accomplish this goal, the Hacienda “Feels Like Home” store is requesting donations for the following items:

Television converter boxes
DVD and VHS players
Vacuum cleaners
Toilet brushes, brooms, dust pans, mops, and buckets
Cleaning supplies
Irons and ironing boards
New pillows (all sizes – king, standard, European)
New mattress covers (twin, double, queen)
New bath towels, wash clothes, and tub mats
Baby bath tub
Medium cork board
Oscillating fans
Crock pots, roasting pans, sauce pans
Small coffee makers
Microwave ovens
Toasters and toaster ovens
Mattresses and box springs (twins and doubles preferred)
Bed frames and head boards
Chairs and love seats in good, clean condition
Small chests of drawers and lingerie dressers
Alarm clocks
Monetary donations

Donations will be available to community groups who adopt apartments as part of the MHS “adopt-a-room” program as well as other MHS programs in Fresno, including at the Juvenile Justice Center.  Women in transitional housing also are permitted to augment their furnishings at supplies with items donated to or purchased for the “Feels Like Home” Store.

Please, all items donated should be clean, in working condition, and ready to use.
